IT Program Management for New Quito International Airport

Derek Consulting Group has been selected to provide information technology strategic planning, systems specifications, and IT program management services for the New Quito International Airport, scheduled to open in Quito, Ecuador in late 2010.
The New Quito International Airport is currently the only “Greenfield” airport project in the Americas. The $650 million privately funded engineering, procurement and construction (EPC/design/build) project will construct a new airport facility approximately 20 km from Quito’s existing airport, Mariscal Sucre International Airport (MSIA).
DCG is providing strategic planning and program management services on behalf of the Airport Operator (Quiport Corporation SA) which include the following:
· Development of the strategic “IT Vision” for the new airport. This strategic planning document identifies the general technology vision and strategies for the new airport, including application requirements, integration needs, implementation priorities and responsibilities, maintenance responsibilities, IT standards, and program management requirements.
· Design review of Designer specifications related to IT systems
· Preparation of additional specifications, Scopes of Work, and procurement assistance for additional systems outside of EPC’s work scope
· Transition planning and coordination assistance for the move from the current Mariscal Sucre International Airport to the new Airport
· Activation planning and support assistance
· IT Program Management (IT PMO) support services through construction and commissioning
