DCG Provides SAP Implementation Services for City of HoustonDecember 29, 2005
Derek Consulting Group has been selected to provided project management and support services for the implementation of an ERP (SAP ) within the Houston Airport System (HAS).
HAS is a department of the City of Houston, Texas. The City of Houston has selected and is implementing SAP as the new city-wide financial/ERP platform. The initiative, called Houston One, will necessitate changes in processes, policies, procedures, and internal department interfacing systems. Department Business Readiness Teams are responsible for implementation (process change and deployment) and change management activities in their respective departments.
DCG shall serve as Business Readiness Project Managers for HAS. DCG responsibilities shall include:
- Project management oversight (PMO)
- Development of a collaborative team website
- Blueprint/process mapping and integration
- Data conversion planning/mapping and management (including technical)
- Integration (planning and technical) with internal department systems
- Policies and procedures change
- Level 2 User training
- Change management
The Houston Airport System operates George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), and Ellington Field (EFD). The Houston Airport System served more than 44.8 million passengers in 2004. It is the 4th-largest multi-airport system in the U.S. and the 6th-largest in the world. Bush Intercontinental is the world's 12th-busiest airport.
